bank accounts in Japan

You have a Wachovia account, right? How does that work for you in Japan? Can you transfer money, etc. from overseas easily? Wamu has pissed me off beyond belief and I need to find another bank. Please enlighten me.

haha actually i never opened a bank account since i get my stipend cash in hand...all the people that do have one that i know have a bank account with the post office though.
