you know what is distracting as hell in Japan? grocery shopping. I am not even talking about the difficulty I have in reading labels and old grandmothers knocking me over to get to shelves while I am trying to read the labels. No, I'm talking about the voices. Really? I never really noticed the songs in the supermarket when I was there. Maybe it's a Kyushu thing? I did however notice the QQ song! I still have that in my head...

Don't clerks everywhere shout Irrashaimase Douzo whenever you walk remotely near them? I had a friend who used to go out of her way to avoid stores that didn't have anyone in them because she didn't want to hear all the Irrashaimase Douzos. XD Now that's in my head.

yes, they all yell, but if i need help they all disappear. :-P I mean, once they look up and see i am gaijin they immediately get pressing business elsewhere. blech. i think most of them think i don't speak japanese. if i can start talking to them b4 they see me though I am usually okay.
