There's no guest room in your parent's house? Maybe the way to go would convince them they should have one or convince them to get some sort of cheap bed frame or mattress from IKEA (or somewhere else) for guests when they come. You know, use the "something comfortable for someone with a bad back" arguement.
Of course, I don't know exactly what's going on with your parents. But perhaps, reminding your parents that you've lived by yourself (in a foreign country, no less!) and are able to take care of yourself and standing your ground will help also? I think sometimes though, in the back of any parent's mind, you're always going to be their little girl.

I do have good news though. Target got my tranfer to California through! I will be heading out there in about 3 weeks. (^o^)/
