Folks who know me always ask me why I never have gone to the Northwest.I really did not have an answer, sometimes I would say, maybe later. Now I know.

A tree killing blob, close to the genetic make up of humans, well that figures!!! Nice work GG,and thanks for posting this.We have this fungi in Alabama, also.Hmmm, wonder if it is the same stuff? It is called shelf fungus here.Well I love shelving and trees,so it must be after me.I hope this does not affect my dreams, tonight!!! :0

Thankfully, I don't have to worry about that fungal blob until it becomes cross-continental... scary thought! :P

Have fun in London! But what's a VBF? I'm afraid that must be one of the net terms that I'm not yet familiar with.

Quick! Call in the hobbits! Set them loose on that mushroom and see how long it lasts!

And if the VBF is doing their job they will call off the gray hair related panic. I think at 18, GG, you are in no imediate danger of decrepitude! ;)

Heh, I love that solution... survival of the fittest. I remember seeing this in the paper a couple of times - considering the number of 'shrooms I have pop up in my yard each autumn, I can well believe it too. :-D

The hobbits being fitter than the fungus, which is fitter than the trees, which means that Legolas is out of a home...

LOL, well it's all downhill from here... ;) Old age calls. Poor Gandalf bore it well, I'll just have to try and keep my pecker up (even if everything is sinking south) Enough!

The hobbit solution is ingenius, that's one the scientists didn't think of ;)
