WMM doesn't work anymore for me either. It used to, but then it suddenly stopped. Because of this I think I tried pretty much every free software available on the internet, but I didn't really find anything I like. You can get a free trial of a software called Arc Soft Show Biz though, and that's probably the best video editing software I've ever tried
