OOM: The Vacation Before the Storm

Stepping through the door of the bar, Ford and Trillian exit into Trill's ship. Ford recognizes the distinctive style of the Heart of Gold. Definitely one of the EVA pods, then. No improb drive, but a hyperspace core and a temporal jump drive. Only things they'll be needing on this trip

"Apple, don't do that weird Tower of Terror thing you did last time I took you out, okay?"

Yes, she's addressing the ship -- it is sort of shaped like a very white apple.

"Thank you kindly," she salutes Ford. "Hope you plan on giving my stuff back. Sit, Apple doesn't bite, but he's sometimes ruder than Eddie and has a penchant for the Dead Kennedys and Pink Floyd, if you push random buttons."

Ford climbs into the copilot seat and straps in. He's seen Trillian fly before.

[mctrillian]

"Don't worry, the worst thing I can do is get utterly lost."

... which is a lie, as the second the ship gets going upward it jostles a bit from the G-forces.

Trillian just shakes her head. "That keeps happening. Bah. Wonder why."

"Don't ask me; I've always been better at sabotage than repair. And so what if we get lost? It'll still be an adventure, and we'll still have fun."

He looks down.

"And it doesn't matter where we go, just that we go together."
