The last desert I was in held an old temple, so I don't really recall the bad. It is, however, better to remain fully clothed in deserts, so I'd keep it on.

An old temple would just mean we'd have to fight off some other pathetic youkai who either wants to eat us or steal the cheating scroll or both. No thanks. And I learned that the hard way~
