1) Most "donate-your-hair" charities are frauds. They use about 10 out of 1000 pieces of hair to make wigs and sell the rest just to keep the company alive and make a profit although a lot of them claim to be non-profit. Most of the hair ends up being sold to doll-maker companies.
2) It makes a LOT more sense to donate money towards curing cancer than to cut off your hair, especially when chances are that it won't even be used for what you wanted them to do with it.
