So Come the Darkness
Poem I just wrote.. I know it's been a while since I've written.. or at least posted anything.
I thought I was stronger than I was
Strong enough to stand in the dark
Waiting for you to realize I was here
That I’ve never moved from this point.
Because you said you needed the time
But just admit all the truth finally now.
There’s memories I remind you of
Simply by standing next to you anymore.
There’s a night that clouds in your eyes
Whenever you glance in my direction.
Somehow, despite my attempts to be a fire,
I suppose we always knew I never could be.
If I’m a darkness, how can I help you in it…
Don’t worry now, I’ll draw my hand back,
And stop pretending to be a light I never was.
If you’re lost in darkness, I’m sorry for it,
That I couldn’t be more than what I am.
Two people lost in the night is all that’s left,
But maybe someone will give you the hand
That you seem to actually want to help you
Since mine can’t even save myself from this.
