more sheet music

As most of you know, I've developed an interest in creating sheet music. I've been doing it professionally for Vienna Teng now for a couple years (although only 3 songs have been published, I'm hopefully that more will be published eventually, when I get time to finish them, she gets time to edit them, and she convinces her management to front the ( Read more... )

How did you get Vienna Teng to look at your transcriptions?

I actually asked her about sheet music at a concert--about the third show I'd seen of hers, 2 years ago in March in L.A.. So far in her career, she's been pretty personable at most of her concerts, greeting fans and selling/signing CDs after the shows. She said she didn't have any sheet music, but that I wasn't the only one who had asked. I mentioned that I had some experience making sheet music (which was true, although everything that I'd done before that was easier than her music), and said that in absence of published sheet music, I would probably make myself some, from the recordings, and I was wondering, if when I was done with them, if she would be interested in seeing the music. And she said yes, that she would be interested in it, if it were accurate. (And with my personality and musical background, I wasn't about to make anything that didn't at least attempt to be accurate.) So I started my first transcription for one of her songs about a month later. It was a LOT of work. :) I've gotten a lot more practice since then, and ( ... )
