jazz

I've figured out why "Smooth Jazz" music is so annoying to me. For example, I find a particular local San Diego radio station, KIFM (Smooth Jazz 98.1), almost entirely repulsive to listen to. Nevertheless, I found myself listening to it for about 2 minutes the other night (I was driving and happened to punch the wrong button and was thinking ( Read more... )

Um.......
Wow...
You sound like a college professor. The most profound, well thought out...and yet still very technical, thing I've heard all week.
Well...it was fun to hear.
I like jazz...but I like category 1 type of Jazz...
But anyway...
HAPPY SABBATH! And we may or not be there tomorrow. We are watching two kids this weekend so we might not be able to make it. Then next week I'll be visiting my grandmother.

Hope to see you soon! Take care!

LOL, umm.... don't know what to say :X I agree, yay for music :) I was told in no uncertain terms by a friend that knows more about the music business than I do that there are, in fact, 6 types of Jazz. Ha, I'm curious what they are now, and how many of them I combined together into this first kind in my list, that I happen to like. She didn't take the time to tell me. So, I don't necessarily know what I'm talking about; but yeah, it was fun; and I'm sure many people would at least recognize my broad categorizations, even if I do over-simplify things a bit. ;)

Happy Sabbath to you too!!! I hope you can come to church; you know, if you can convince your parents to bring with you the kids that you're watching: it's an Open House church service!! ;) And then this week we're doing the barbecue afterwards, so that might be something they'd actually enjoy too. But yeah, I understand if you don't make it... it just stinks (for you) to miss so many weeks in a row. So... hope to see you soon too.

It stinks for all when we miss so many weeks. But things come up...you know...car trouble...sickness...out of towners. Then the fact that my mom absolutely never sleeps and has to get up so early for work...and Saturday and Sunday are the only days she can sleep...and she needs it.
But it still stinks. None of us like missing, believe me.

We still watch the program on Saturday night, though, and they have online services. It's all good.

We just miss the fellowship. We hate not going.
