My remaining Lady of the house wants to make sure everyone knows that she's doing well, thanks. She will, however, be wearing Dad's ass as a hat until she adjusts to the sudden disappearances of her mom and sister. (And this should do it for the full-page cat ads for a while, folks. Thanks for the indulgence.)

Seriously, the pictures are beautiful. I just put Pookie's kitties to bed, after cleaning up the hair-extruded-columnar wad of one and the strange day three misdirected effluvia of the other. I am glad they are around, and just this evening figured out the trick to get them into his room for sleep - that whole brushing thing. The bear will be back on Monday from Michigan.

Oh, and hey! I have been growing things to eat! OK - they are just herbs -- but thery're a-growin'!

PS - I can't for the life of me figure out what that icon is - it looks like a blurry close-up of a monkeybutt. Which I am sure it is not.

Dean was all "Two of his cats died? One of renal failure? Is he living in West Virginia yet? Because that's how neighbours let you know they hate you, they poison your cats."

He's from Ohio. They dsiparage West Virginians.

Everyone disparages West Virginia. It's one of the poorest, whitest states in the US. Ohio just happens to be one of the states that borders it. I've had in-laws in WV, so I've heard about the animal poisoning. I pity the fool who tries to f*ck with my cat though, being Virginia white trash myself. Not that she couldn't take'm herself, of course.

OH my god. I love that this is a safe space to rave about one's cats. Okay, about the insulin bit? My amazing cat Stumpy, who died a couple of years ago, was diabetic (also an amputee, hyperthyroid, deaf and mostly toothless), and I gave him shots for 2 years, until the day he died. I adored that cat and still feel blessed for the 4 1/2 years we had together.

And my cat Josephine is a high femme kitty princess whom I enjoy writing about on my LJ, if you scroll through some of the older entries. She was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism too (she's almost 15), so I'm praying the Tapazole works so I don't have to put her through radiation.
