Is "reboot dumbass" proper Unix code?

Aug 25, 2004 11:50

So ok, we've discovered that repetitively entering the same page of Unix code for 3 days does not do jack-all for squat if we neglect that mystifying final command: reboot. Asshat. There goes my potential career as a Unix- or any other language-geek. How will I get the chicks now?

To be fair, unlike Windows, there is very little in UNIX that requires a reboot. So knowing to reboot, instead of being obvious, is rare and unexpected.

Okay, I'll tell you why, but you can't tell anyone. (Shhh!)

Because being a wise-ass quiets the voices in my head. Okay, not really, but even the voices in my head need a good laugh now and then. Plus, cracking jokes detracts people from realizing I'm a farked-up nutjob. Or not.
