Of course a Con veteran would catch the omission... (not to call me out on it, but simply to let others know of more good stuff. )
I had tried reading the first book in the space trilogy right after Narnia. In fact, it was the very next day. But all I can remember about it is that I wasn't in a good frame of mind to read it. Probably should have given my head some time to switch gears... And so, I just left it out of my posting.

Well, while we're at it I might as well mention that "Mere Christianity" is probably the best of his "for grownups" works, but is really best for someone who is actually seeking a way to reconcile their intellect with their childhood upbringing. (Gee, now why would that be of interest to the sci-fi crowd?) That's why I like "The Screwtape Letters" better. if IT was mandatory, ANNUAL reading for anyone/everyone of any power within religious hierarchies, there wouldn't be nearly the problems within organized religion that there are.
