A woman I know who smoked 2 packs a day for 20 odd years gave me some advice for quitting... she said that when she and her hubby quit, they did it cold turkey - and whenever they felt the craving, they'd take a little sip of real fruit juice. She said that was the only way the could conquer the cravings. There was something in the juice a chemical reaction in the body that made it easier...
Now, if I could only drink fruit juice (high sugar, even naturally). LOL.
I use gum. I also like sugar free mints, but after four, they give you the shits. The gum doesn't.
I have also discovered bunny tracks ice cream. Sugar free and mahvelous (my ass doesn't think so, but I'm not worrying about it).
Thanks for your help. I'm having a hard time today, trying to turn a negative corner, so all these nuggets of love from you are so welcome, needed, and appreciated. I love you, Else!

I love you too, Lyn!
I forgot about the sugar issue, dammit... um... I wonder if water would work too?
Last time I quit, I went for a brisk walk, just around the block, every time I wanted to have a smoke... it gave me those minutes away from my desk that I craved as much as the nicotine. And I always sat back down feeling a bit proud of myself - that I'd gone for a non-smoke break! LOL!
