When I saw this prompt my thoughts went to the amazing balance in the Straw Hat crew between the organised and the ridiculous. Despite all of Luffy's madness, they still seem to get things done. No two characters are as different as Nami and Luffy and yet without the striking harmony between her planning and his sheer impulsive chaos... well, it just wouldn't be One Piece! Here's to Yin and Yang and the wonders of opposites that attract XD

Despite the warm summer sun caressing her, Nami shivered. A tingle raced from her head to the very tips of her pointed toes… They were up to something, she could feel it…
“WHAHOO!!!!!!” Luffy shouted, swinging into view on a loose piece of rigging, “I’M GOING TO NEWSTAT ISLAND!!!”
Nami folded her newspaper with a reluctant sigh.
“Luffy, there’s a fortress there with 20,000 Marines waiting for you to land so they can throw you in a sea stone dungeon.”
“Sounds awesome!”
“They’re having a bounty hunter conference in three days.”
“Awesome!!!”
“There’s a haunted house with a headless duke who scoops out the intestines of anyone who dares to walk the shores at night.”
“ARGHHHHHH!!!” shouted Chopper and Brooke.
“Fascinating,” stated Robin.
“Scary!!!” howled Luffy. “AWESOME!!!”
“I’ll tell Sanji not to give you a meat ration for a week.”
“I’M GOING FISHING!!!” Luffy amended.
Nami sighed and shook her newspaper out. This was acceptable.
“I CAUGHT A SEA KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Look at its horns, it must do battle under the sea…” Zoro observed.
“From the markings, it looks similar to a flathead… thyme crumb and mixed herb butter should work…” Sanji mused.
“Super!!! I’ve been wanting to try out my new ‘Advanced Robot Winch and Pulley Chest-Mounted Cannon’ Stand back!” Franky directed.
“SUGOI!!!” Chopper and Luffy drooled.
“YOU ARE NOT BRINGING THAT THING ON TO THE SHIP!!!” Nami screamed.
“Awwwww… but Naaamiiiiiii…” Luffy whined.
“IT’S AS BIG AS AN ISLAND, YOU WANT TO SINK US ALL!?!?”
After a lesson in relative dimensions on sailing vessels delivered in dot points through her fists, Nami went back to her reading.
The waves lapped the hull, the gulls cried and the ship creaked soothingly. The Navigator sighed contentedly,
Ahhhh… A place for everything and those idiots in their place.
Bliss.
