hi,
I saw you post this question in ask_a_nurse and I'm not allowed to answer there b/c I'm not a nurse but have you considered a yeast infection as the cause? Yeast can cause 'rashes' or raised spots all over the skin and forms in white clusters in the mouth when it's severe. The Candida bacteria can spread quickly when not treated and can also turn into a fungal infection.
