book 8 changes

The big, important change that comes from the end of book 8 is that Ronan looses a talking voice in his head and Nita starts to hear one. Yes.

It's the perdexis effect: its the part of the Oath between wizards and the One that makes the Speech into wizardry, as well as being a conduit of extra power between wizards and the One. It's also part of the information management system in the manuals, and is shown in the book 9 preview to be capable of doing complex calculations almost instantaneously, and is probably be the basis for the more simple calculation system in the manual as well. It can't interfere with other manuals without permission, but it can interface with them and send information between them and a computer or a telephone, and provide Nita with information from the manual at will. It can also act reflexively for Nita for her safety, like stopping her from blasting Kit in her sleep or helping her by providing a extra boost of power if necessary.

Nita calls it Bobo after her childhood imaginary friend, and unlike the Winged Defender, the perdexis can only be heard by those who believe in "the living spell" or that the soul of wizardry is truly alive with its own will and powers. If you think your character applies, please, please, let me know--canonically, although other wizards can vouch and do believe that the perdexis effect exists, very few can hear its voice and we don't see any other wizard besides Nita who can. I'm not sure if it's even possible, since the source of power for the YW is the abdal of Earth and the One and it may be something like Nita's own oath manifest in some way, but I'm willing to talk it over.

Right. I think that's it. Questions/clarifications/confusions can be directed to the comments box.
