Yeah I just got one a few days ago too, I've gone through at least 3 layouts, you just gotta look, you gotta see a lot of stupid ones to find good ones.
There is a group in my friends list called premade_layouts and they have a lot of cool ones, most of the better layout communities you need to join, but usually all you do is click a button and your approved, and if their layouts are ugly just take them off your list.
I'm sure you've done it but just search in interests "layouts" or whatever, icons, headers stuff like that.
There are also two communities called "everything_lj" and "howto" they give a lot of info on changing text, colors, page trasitions and so many little cool effects.
