Hum de hum

This week has been fairly dull as I am on Passover Break (woo!), so I've been going on plenty of walks and... that's about it. Arrrgh, it's been a very lonely week and I haven't been treating myself very well, by which I mean I have been treating myself very well by consuming too much chocolate. At least it's dark! I bought this pack of dark ( Read more... )

I just want one clear life goal with a clearly laid out plan for success so I can stop thinking about that part of my life!

*snort* Let me know when you get that figured out, okay?

Seriously, one of the biggest lessons of adulthood for me has been that ALMOST NO ONE has it figured out. There are the occasional highly driven personalities, but they aren't any fun to be around anyway.

I'm sorry about Daniel's hours. At least you get breakfast, which sounds amazing by the way. But no, I know what it's like to lose your husband to work and it's not fun.

Will do, Katharine! I'm sure it's out there! ;) I just wish that in the meantime I was doing something remotely challenging! Harumph. I think the plan for now will include taking classes (like this French one).

Oh, I know you do-- and I can't imagine going through this with a baby, no matter how sweet and adorable!

I realized that probably sounded condescending, but I've been looking for my comprehensive plan ever since graduating and haven't found it yet. :-P

I think as long as you are still learning and exploring, you will be successful.

If you can do French and Spanish, you will find a job. Pretty much every job I see is for French and Spanish together, which drives me nuts because I do French and English. All you need is certification and the world will be your oyster.

I just want one clear life goal with a clearly laid out plan for success so I can stop thinking about that part of my life! Heh, I've never been the most career-focused or ambitious person ever :P. I know you're supposed to find what you love to do and then get paid to do it, but what I love to do just doesn't pay well enough!

I'm still in the same situation, waiting for the same clarity... and I'm 33!! :P Not to be discouraging. I'm sure something will unfold soon for you.

Steve Madden is my fave!

I'm making a Meyer lemon pound cake. It sounded just right for Easter.

On the contrary-- knowing others are experiencing the same thing is helpful!

Oh my goodness, lemon pound cake is one of my favorite things. I've never used Meyer lemons before! Do they make a big difference?

This was the first time I'd used them, and they are a little different! They have a slight spicy/clove-y kick. I see why people are crazy about them.

I think about you guys all the time! I hope Daniel finds a less consuming job soon, and that you find a more fulfilling one.

What is your French class through? A university or a private organization or something else? I wish there were a good one for us to take here.

Thank you!

We're going through fi:af (French Institute/Alliance Francaise). It's pricey, but costs less than taking a class at a university. Hopefully we'll meet like-minded friends there!
