.Note 87.

I won't be running for the next term; it's time for a change, and I would like to be afforded a chance to be able to focus fully on the police force that I've set up. There is still much to be done without taking on the additional duties, and I'm sure that the next Warden would be able to do an excellent job ( Read more... )

Light Yagami.

Unless the new warden permits it, you'll not retain your function. Do you... understand?

And why not, Rosiel, when I took the initiative to set the system up myself?

Because no one, Light Yagami, loves a superior once he has lost rank.

You forfeit your position... very noble. Expect little gratitude.

Now, show support and encourage people to vote for a particular nominee... and you might retain your office.

I forfeit for a reason. I fully plan to, of course.

I'm glad you're still going to be around enforcing a police system, on the other hand.

Some of these candidates seem laughable.

Can't abandon something that I set up earlier, can I? Of course, I fully intend on assisting the Warden however I can, considering the fact that there are one or two candidates who are actually worth looking into.

Prince Charming seems to be a very good choice so far, when it comes right down to it.

Mmm, this place is improving; what do you think of the talks of introducing some sort of judicial and legislative system here?

Tch, some of them seem to be running for the hell of it and it's hard to take any of them seriously.

Never heard of Prince Charming up until the invasion. If he's that credible, I'll take your word for it.

I believe that they are excellent ways in their own right, but the dynamics of this City must be considered. Frankly, setting down the laws in a City like this is a herculean effort, and the results cannot possibly be seen in a short span of months. What the prospects need right now will be the support of as many people as possible for it to bear fruit. Without the charisma of one who can pull the people in and sway them to see the fact that the system is a good thing, it will be impossible for the system to be enforced, even if it comes through. Ah, my apologies, I was rambling a little too much there.

It is, and I personally find it quite an insult to the integrity of the system, as fledgling as it is.

My thanks, Lady. Watch for him, I believe he's one who will bring about the changes for the better.

I value your effort to continue with such endeavors, and I'll remember so if I should win.

I'm behind you wholeheartedly, Prince Charming; as far as I can see, you're by far the most competent candidate yet.

You're very much welcome; I'll certainly do what I can to see that someone as qualified as you are attains the position. The citizens will need someone like you to guide them.

Best of luck with your future endeavours, Light. I'm sure that putting more of your focus on the police force will pay off.

Ah, thank you for the kind words, Allen. Hopefully, the new Warden will bring more new changes into this City and improve on it. There are only one or two candidates I find excellent, unfortunately.

If the changes that did come about weren't to help improve the City I'd certainly be disappointed.

Only two at most? Who? Ahh... B-but it's a political thing, huh? Sorry, I shouldn't ask.

True, considering that all of us are within the City. Any decision made, whether good or bad, has the ability to affect us all.

Ah, it's quite all right; I personally have my eye on Prince Charming, I believe that he has what it takes to change the system for the better.

Hopefully I'll still be working, of course. I can't imagine what I'd do with my time otherwise.

A personal favor, Faye?
