Character: Sam Winchester
Fandom: Supernatural
Survival Horror Test: Sam was born and raised to become a hunter, someone who hunts the supernatural; demons, ghosts, different creatures, anything that is evil. He possesses psychic powers, and while this is helpful at times, his training with firearms, his knowledge of everything supernatural, and his ability to use almost anything in a fight makes him a powerful adversary against anything that might come up against him. The world he comes from is filled with dangers in every turn, and he has survived through all of that. His life is one big horror test, and Sam has managed to come out on the winning side just as many times as he’s come out on the losing side, though those loses are worse than anything else, and he still manages to survive through it all.
Personality: When you first meet him, Sam comes across as the possessor of very good people skills. He is courteous and polite, and his humor and tact are always well timed. Sam has a natural empathy for people in general. But besides all that, he is a Winchester. Nice people call them willful and their friends call them just plain stubborn. The Winchesters are notoriously determined, but Sam is the type to set long-term goals for himself and stick to them despite changing circumstances, sometimes out of sheer tenacity.
Sam is fiercely independent and far more intelligent than he seems. At heart, he is a problem-solver; a strategist. He is optimistic and expects himself to rise to whatever goals he sets, which are always larger than anyone else's. Sam's weaknesses are all internal, his best efforts are never quite enough, and he is more inclined to take blame rather than curse about fate, destiny, or chance. Sam has slowly acquired a deep-set guilt complex, which takes this inclination past the point of reasonable, logical boundaries. Sam's happiness is dependent on his responsibility to those he cares for and how well he has lived up to what he thinks they deserve. He is upfront with his emotions.
Protective of those around him, Sam can become a very dangerous liability in hostile situations, but ultimately this trait makes him capable of both great courage and nobility. Sam understands the need for sacrifice, but his overestimation of his abilities to see a solution makes him quick to jump to the worst conclusion when they fail him. Fortunately, Sam's instinct is to reach out for help in times of extreme need; but not always to those nearest to him. If that is not possible, Sam tends to over process his emotions to the point where even he barely knows what he's feeling.
Timeline: After episode 5.14, “My Bloody Valentine”, where he is detoxing from the demon blood in Bobby’s safe room.
Powers/Abilities: Sam exhibits both telekinetic and precognitive abilities at various times throughout the series, with them only getting stronger with the more demon blood he drinks. His powers are implied to be a result of being fed demon blood by Azazel, which he did to a number of children before his death, however it is revealed that his powers are not actually given to him through the drinking of demon blood, rather they were always fully his and that his own dark choices were their source. While his addiction to demon blood gave him the ability to kill demons with just a flick of the wrist, he at one point said that he didn’t feel the craving for it anymore, however, at the moment he craves it, but is willingly detoxing from it. Sam is also immune to the Croatoan virus, which is a demon virus that infects humans to become violent and kill and/or infect others. In addition, with the training given to him by his father, Sam is a skilled fighter, proficient with firearms, shotguns and melee weapons. He is also proficient in lock picking, computer hacking, disguised conning, and car jacking. Sam also commands vast knowledge of the supernatural and is considered an "encyclopedia of weirdness." He is proficient in reading and recalling spells written in Latin, which can be used to exorcise, summon or vanquish demons. He also learned from Ruby how to make hex bags to cloak themselves from demons and angels.
History: Sam was born on May 2, 1983 to John and Mary Winchester in Lawrence, Kansas. He was the couple's second child, four years younger than his older brother, Dean. When Sam was only six months old, his mother, Mary, was killed in his nursery by the demon Azazel, who his mother walked in on while he was standing by Sam's crib, doing something mysterious. Interrupted in his act by Mary, Azazel kills her by trapping her against the ceiling, cutting her stomach, and then engulfing her in flames. Infant Sam is saved from the fire when Dean carries him outside while their father unsuccessfully tries to rescue their mother.
Twenty-two years later to the day, Azazel kills Sam's girlfriend Jessica in front of Sam in the same manner in which he killed his mother, spurring him to embark on a journey with his brother to find their father and kill the demon that killed their mother and Jess. He and his brother go on many missions to find their father, eventually catching up with him, but before they can do much of anything, their car was hit and they all ended up going to the hospital, where Dean was saved only by John giving his life for him. From then on, its only been the two brothers together, fighting demons and all the ghosts and ghouls that are out there.
Sam makes some new friends that have the same abilities as him, such as mind reading, telekinesis, and precognitive skills. Over time though, they begin to disappear, and it is up to Sam and his brother to find them, until Sam himself is taken as well. Sam is trapped in a haunted, abandoned town in South Dakota with four others of Azazel's special children, including Andy and Ava. It is revealed that there is demon blood in Sam and that, much to Sam's surprise; his mother knew who Azazel was. Azazel has brought them all together to fight to the death to become Azazel's champion. Sam tries to save the special children he has been trapped with in South Dakota, only to have them picked off one by one. He eventually figures out that during the many months Ava has been missing, she has actually been living in the abandoned town, fighting in many contests set up by Azazel, and has won them all. She has only been acting naive and frightened, but has actually gained great mastery over her demon-given powers. Another of Azazel's children, a soldier named Jake, kills her, then stabs Sam while Sam is running to Dean and Bobby, who have just arrived to rescue him. Sam dies in Dean's arms. Sam is then saved by Dean selling his soul at the crossroads to get Sam back, and in the following months, Sam does whatever he can to save his brother.
He is helped in his quest by a demon named Ruby, and she helps him develop his powers in an effort to take down the demon Lilith and save his brother from the contract that she holds. Unfortunately, there is no way to save Dean, and what happens is ingrained in Sam’s brain-watching his brother die by unseen hellhounds, Lilith in Ruby’s body, and nothing he can do to stop it. Sam and Bobby buried Dean, and while he was dead, Sam did all he could to find a way to bring him back, as well as go hunting on his own. Ruby was also there, in the backgrounds, helping him to still develop his powers, so where it got to the point that he could exorcise demons with a single flick of his wrist. When Dean came back though, he had to hide what he was doing from his brother, knowing that him, and the angels that seemed to follow him around, would not approve. Drinking demon blood was what gave him the more powerful abilities that he had, and in the end, it was his powers that brought on the Apocalypse.
However, once the portal for Lucifer opens, not only are Sam and his brother transported onto an airplane, but Sam loses his demon powers, to his knowledge. However, at this point, Sam feels extremely guilty for starting the apocalypse, and even his brother tells him that they cannot have the relationship and unconditional trust they used to have because he chose a demon over his brother and nothing could ever make things okay between them again. After the brothers fight War, who is one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Sam and Dean went their separate ways; Sam still worrying about how much of a dangerous liability he is. Away from his brother, Sam works at a bar, learning to become normal again. He began to have dreams of his dead girlfriend, Jessica, who kept asking him what he was planning to do with the rest of his life. After some time, Jessica morphed into Lucifer in his dreams, and he told Sam that the vessel he is possessing right now is a temporary one, and that Sam is his true vessel. Sam is then told that in due time, no matter what, he will agree to being Lucifer’s vessel.
After Dean is sent to the future and back, he calls Sam up, and they meet again. Dean then tells Sam that he wants him to come back and hunt with him again, seeing as they can both keep each other human by being together. Together the brothers continue to fight demons, and other supernatural creatures. They are occasionally sucked into things they don’t want to be a part of, like having to go to a ‘Supernatural’ convention, which is for the books that were written by Chuck, who is a prophet. Sam also needs to deal with being swapped bodies with a young boy, though he gets his body back. Dealing with the loss of close friends, the brothers do what they can, until they come to a town where people are killing each other out of supposed ‘love’. They soon discover that in reality, Famine, one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse is in town. In the end, Sam succumbs to drinking demon blood to help get rid of them, and he’s locked in the safe room at Bobby’s to detoxify from the demon blood once again.

Last place I was at was a demon-proof safe room, so unless someone has decided that it’d be fun to move me around. The only thing I can think of that’d be able to do this would be-no, I wouldn’t be dropped near a beach, if that was the actually case. Unless I’m still hallucinating. That’s what this could be, another dream or. The cravings have stopped, though. So where could I be? Dean? Cas? Bobby!? Anyone out there know those names?
Sample journal entry: It was unpleasant to wake up on the floor, though Sam was used to sleeping in unpleasant places. Though, usually the uncomfortable place was a rock hard motel bed, but the floor was almost the same consistency as some of the worst ones. But at the same time, it sent messages of ‘this is wrong’ down his back and he knew that wherever he was, Sam was definitely not wherever he was supposed to be. Frowning up at the ceiling, he got up, massaging his head as a headache coursed across his temple, brief, but enough to make him groan in exasperation.
There was also the part where there was no sign of the church he had been in when he last could remember anything, and he wondered if maybe, possibly, things had progressed so badly that the devil had just left him for what he may as took as him being dead. But that still would not begin to explain the room, the sight that was out of the window over there in the corner, or anything that was really going on here.
Looking down at the floor, he saw a small device on there, looking like some sort of cell phone, or a communicator of some sort. He picked it up, giving it a cursory one over, and he saw the screen and the small buttons below. Almost like a cell phone in a way, though he had never seen one of this make and model before. But, then again, he definitely wasn’t where he last was, and he stuck it in his pocket, hoping that it would give him a clue as to where he was, as well as where to find his brother.
