That was awesome. I love the refrain of "not a genius" and the grittiness and sadness of it - and yet both of them are still sympathetic.

"This is where you live?" Mello asks. He's frowning at the tattered couch. Matt wonders if it hurts his face to do that.

That made me smile, for some reason. It was a bit of poignancy to the thought, even though it was raw and concise.

So I'm finding that I really enjoy your style with DN.
