Not that I don't AGREE with what you're saying...weezel365November 4 2009, 21:23:18 UTC
. . . but dude... "Where the fickle will of a biased uneducated people suppresses the rights of others." That's called "Democracy." It's always been like that. And it sucks. http://community.livejournal.com/secs_and_peace/8641.html

i read the link and sadly i was not aware that similar events had taken place in Florida and AZ, but i enjoyed your words on the issue.
I know. sadly i do know. And im not a fan of it. Pure democracy is mob rule and in my opinion easily one of the worst forms of governance. I firmly believe people need to be led and as a whole are not capable of peacefully and fairly living in a society with out leaders and rules of fair play so to speak. My understanding is we were suposed to be a representative republic, and that many of the founding fathers spoke out against pure democracy.

It's true, many of the founding father did speak out against pure democracy... uhm, but at the time we would've only been left with dictatorship or anarchy. As fun as it is to have imagine how the US would've turned out, I seriously doubt the colonies would have survived amongst themselves as autonomous collectives with things like "Lords" and "vassals" governing the City-States. It'd make an interesting Fan-Fic, though.
People gripe at me because I use words like "queer" and "faggot" (not to mention other racial and sexual slurs), and then they all of a sudden seem to forget or perhaps never cared at all about the amount of work I put in to SEC & PEACE and how much I actually give a shit about how much I try and PROMOTE equality. Sure, I may say things, but using a word in est as part of everyday speech really takes away it's "hate power," ya know? I try to push these ideals to the "Suggest A Spotlight" people at LJ and unfortunately it never gets across.
