Well, I might be heading to Mississippi to help with hurricane relief. Who knows where I'll end up. If I had a car, I'd already be on my way, jumping from spot to spot, helping whereever I can. As it is, I might be leaving tomorrow morning with a group from my church. This is something I've been contemplating for a while now, as I have no money ( Read more... )

Heh, I doubt I'll buy it. But I thought it was really well done, and very human.

As a comedy, it had it's (very few) moments, but I think it was really a much better character piece than comedy. I like movies like that.

Aw, that's so awesome you're goijg down to help. I would go too, if I was old enough, heh. But as I'm a Senior in high school, I seriously doubt my parents would let me go on down there. But hey, even though I don't know you, I'm proud of you!!

Well, thanks, Amelia. Would your parents let you go with a youth group or something? Say if it was like a mission trip?

Hm, prolly not, actually. She wouldn't want me falling behind or homebound 'cause I would be missing a long time of school. But there's alot of "give money, food, clothing" donations I can get involved in, so it's all the same.

Not knocking your willingness to help despite your inability to do so at all (understand this, please), but it's not quite the same... there are a lot of people sending money, food, and clothing donations down there, but not so many people going in order to make up an infrastructure to hand it out and such. The usefulness of two hands and a willing heart to help cannot be underestimated, in my opinion.

This being said, I'm glad you're doing as much as you can. I have to say, if I had money or food to give, I probably wouldn't be considering actually going down there at all. Just because it's so much easier.
