Rammstein anyone?

I'm a heavy metal journalist, and I love heavy metal, but I love some bands that do get me pilloried from time to time, especially by "tr00" metalheads. Not by you guys, of course, because I am blessed to have open-minded music fans who are on here with me.

My deal with Rammstein is that they're too over-the-top, in the vein of GWAR and KISS. Their focus is mediocre music and incredibly stage presence.

While I do enjoy the tunes, a lot of the enjoyment is lost if you're not seeing them in concert.

True, they do have that whole over the top persona which is well suited for live settings, and unless you know German it's hard to sing along. And yes, if you want to listen to something more musically complex, Rammstein is not it.

However, I am a child of the 80's. I love music that is over the top and doesn't take itself too seriously. I wish bands would concentrate more on stage shows as well as the music like the bands in the 80's did. So, I love Rammstein. It's music to drive fast to, music to get jacked up to before a hockey game, music to get into a pub brawl to, music to dance with your baby daughter with! Thank you Lord for a daughter with an ear for music!

Rammstein kicks ass!!! I have Sehnsucht and Mutter. Some awesome music to drive to!
