Are Twitter, MySpace and Facebook worth my time for my webzine?

Yo, tech savvy people! I need ya, and my webzine needs ya...well, your advice, anyway!

I have a question for you all!

Do you think it would be beneficial for my webzine to be on networking sites like Facebook and Twitter?

We already have a MySpace site, and while it has been beneficial as far as making contacts, it is very bare bones and doesn't have ( Read more... )

There's definitely a line between using a hammer and worshiping it....as with all technology. I think facebook and twitter could be very useful for you, but use them like a business would. You don't need to twitter about what you had for lunch, but rather twitter when you have posted a new article, got some breaking news, etc. Same for facebook which has status updates the same way that twitter has tweets ( ... )

Well, let me say I don't think I update frequently enough (weekly at the most frequent) to be on Twitter. I have a friend who uses Twitter, and if she reads this she'll probably kill me, but I can't wait to make fun of her about it hahaha...

FAcebook is a possibility, but all those features you mention must be hidden somewhere. All I see on that page are pics and comments and no more. Doesn't look that useful. Is there something I am missing?

Now, MySpace, that works well for me, I just want to make it better.

You don't have to update constantly to use twitter - update it when it suits you. That's a benefit of it... if people are following you then any time you post, it will pop up for them. They don't have to remember to go looking to see if you posted anything so you don't have to post constantly to keep them interested and checking ( ... )
