Went to Kilkenny a week ago, saw the castle, and ate at a pub that has existed since 1321.

A piece of trivia that I learnt yesterday about that particular place - Kilkenny is the warmest part of Ireland during the summer, but is cold during the winter, due to its inland location.

It is beautiful, I agree. I think though that I take a lot of what's here for granted just by virtue of living in this country - and should travel more.
