Ok, seriously. Whay doesn't this ever happen when I go to the beach?

NYC's sewers overflowing and washing down to my beach? Yes.

A container filled with thousands of perfectly good bags of Doritos falls off a ship, breaks open and washes up on the shore? Never. Not once!

This seems to happen with more regularity than one would think would be possible given that, you know... these are giant, metal shipping containers strapped to ships.

A while back I saw a story about a bunch of Nike shoes that washed ashore much the same way. And of course there's that ever-roaming band of rubber bath-ducks that's sort of become legendary...

I love that rubber duck story. I know it's not good for the environment, but it just makes me happy to know that there is a flotilla of rubber ducks circling to globe.
