Celebration 2010

Well last night wrapped up Celebration 2010. My Mom LOVED Celebration and singing, drumming and dancing and learning/teaching our language and traditions. Some of the best times of her life were doing those things. So this year was a bit emotional for me. Katy is in a dance group so she got to perform. Kristin made a beautiful button

That's such a lovely story! It's fantastic that Katy is so into it - the language, the dancing, the drumming. What really got me was the story of the butterfly your mom designed for your girl and all the work you and Kristin did to sew it.

Thanks for the link for the non Facebookers amongst us. It's much appreciated. The pics are beautiful and the costumes! I'd never seen anything like it before.

i looked at your photos the other day, but haven't had a chance to say how much i enjoyed them. the kids are cute and i can't get over how katy just has a very peaceful look about her. the button blanket with the butterfly and the fact that katy was able to wear your mom's items is a very touching story-- very special. i'm happy for you and her especially. i hope she continues to hold the songs close. :)
