Maybe I Should Send My Kids to Chabad Schools, They Aren't Pinched Enough at Home.

Last week, our 14 year old sensitive and gentle son came into my car crying because a teacher pinched and humiliated him in front of an entire school of over 200 kids and staff . And his crime? For not standing up for ashrei at mincha quickly enough.

Miraculously, our boy doesn't blame the Aibershter and is still happy to daven mincha.

Later that ( Read more... )

I shared this with my husband, who was educated in Crown Heights in the 90's-- he says he doesn't believe the story, FWIW. Dunno.

did you look at the original link? What on earth makes him think this person made it up? It sounds 100% accurate.

Yes, we read the original story in the comments thread. He simply thought it sounded over the top and that a mainstream Lubavitch mechanech would not say or do that.

On the other hand, her use of the word headmaster as opposed to principal or rebbi suggests England...

I would have filed assault charges. Immediately and without hesitation.
Then again, that is probably why people like me do not send their kids to Chabad Schools, which, in turn, is probably why they can get away with it.

I would also file assault charges, but if this kid is brainwashed into not telling b/c of loshon hora, imagine how mesira might prevent him from testifying.

I'd start with a complaint to Child Services.
Let them interview all the kids, one-by-one.

Even in the (unlikely) scenario they won't get the truth from anyone, that would probably make a teacher think thrice before assaulting a student.

It just seems to me that there must be far friendlier cults one could join.

what's up with the husband? glowing_flower October 26 2010, 23:42:19 UTC
There is no way my husband would sit there and let anyone scream at me unless they had a gun.

This is a bully, pure and simple. And bullies bully until someone stands up to them. If we as a community give people like this our hard-earned money, we have no one but ourselves to blame.

I also question whether the issue was that the child was so "makpid on lashon hara" or simply scared witless. Abusers/predators are very skilled at silencing their victims.
