Summary: Insight from an unusual character on the MCRT.
I couldn't believe it when I heard. I could see the relationship later when she slept on the floor next to me of course. I just stood there in my usual silence watching her, and everyone else around me as they skirted around their own feelings. Tony managed to run away the longest, but when Ziva was volunteered, I could only imagine how that session with the good doctor went.
It may be a bit premature but I like to consider Ziva my friend. I've been here next to her each day since she started. Her scaring and creeping DiNozzo out was always grand entertainment. She is still the stealthy ninja that everyone calls her today, but back then, she certainly used that skill much more. Specifically just to get under Tony's skin. I think she truly enjoyed it personally. Ziva is very much a people watcher which actually confused me later on when she left the team to go back to Israel. I mean, come on! DiNozzo risked his life and his career on more than one occasion for her. When she was on the run from the FBI and NCIS, he didn't think twice about having her back.
I heard about what Ziva did for Gibbs and later why. I can't imagine it wasn't easy to follow an order like that, let alone to hear it from a person's own father. She hadn't had it easy. If I could hug her, I would.
McGee is so cute too. I miss him when he was a little chunkier even if I'm glad he found his feet against DiNozzo. He thinks that Tony just likes teasing and tormenting him, but if he didn't there would be little doubt that he would even be where he is today as a person. Kate helped him too in that. She was sort of like the mother/sister figure that the guys needed. Much nicer than that Vivian lady. Thank goodness she didn't last long before Gibbs sent her with her walking papers.
Gibbs. He knew who the lady was from the beginning I think. I bet Kate shared pictures with him at some point for all the times she talked about her brothers and sister when comparing Tony and McGee to them. I couldn't help but wonder if there was something extra going on with those two. Gibbs took to her more quickly than anyone else. With Ziva, he wasn't happy and her position wasn't by choice. Kate was entirely his choice from day one and he took her loss much harder than the rest of the team, even if he didn't show it. I know. I was there. I saw.
Everyone seemed to be getting on with their lives. Just...living. Ziva is free from her past and I'm sure that she and Tony will resolve their issues eventually. McGee will open his eyes and see that Abby may be ready soon for what she wasn't years ago. Gibbs will......agaboiawoabhklnjahir.
Ziva returned from the interview Gibbs sent her and DiNozzo on, suscequently dumping her coat and bag on top of her desk as she complained about the quality of Tony's taste in music as he complained about her lack of driving skills.
