I find it amusing that Sai -- whose character design and behavior definitely bordered on gender ambiguous -- doesn't quite get transpeople or those who are straight-but-gay at heart(aka the shopkeeper). Of course, he is amnesic and blind.
Nice work demonstrating how he navigates. I feel a new respect for the visually impaired.
Poor Sai. He really is traumatized by his bad experiences, not wanting to be touched by the shopkeeper, and being afraid of the doorman. I bet Ogata is going to be *pissed.*
I wonder if Hikaru will figure out how Sai has been affected. Granted, he's a bit dense (typical boy) but Sai is definitely a lot more reserved and shy than before.

You're right Hikaru is pretty dense. And yes, Sai's a lot more cautious here, hopefully that goes away once his life settles down. (And that's not yet!)
I hope that once he's got his 'look' sorted out then people start treating him better. I wonder what he chose, green or purple? At least he avoided argyle, thats hard to imagine but then so is Sai in jogging bottoms!
