Happy Australia Day! Man, this is the second one I've spent away from home. I wonder who's playing BDO this year...

Anyone up for a barbecue in the park? Despite all the madness going on. Or as a distraction from it. (Sadie, I'm borrowing your barbie.)

event: australia day

PAIKEA...

Oh, come on, we need someone to light the thing on Waitangi Day anyway! And besides, we can always go along to supervise the using of it and put an Aussie flag and some shrimps on the barbie.

Eh, usual barbie fare - hamburgers, sausages, prawns, veggies. Bring anything you want burnt, I guess. Or marinade.

I'm Ash Ward, by the way.

Noir Mendetta...hmmm...

I don't like that look...

Oh I was just thinking...maybe...maybe it's time for me to take up an old Mendetta family tradition.

...OK I'll bite...what tradition?

The Mendetta family marinade, past down from generation to generation, father to son ect...each member contributing a little to the recipe...it is very possibly the greatest sauce ever to grace meat...come Pico to the kitchens we need peppers, and garlic and pineapple and *Continues rattling off list as the signal cuts*

This sounds like it can only end badly.

If you don't mind, I'll bring you some hot sauce that Eric once made me.

Literally burnt a Squirrel's fur off when it hit it. I'm dead serious.

A barbecue's a... Um... It's a device used to cook food over coals. And Australia Day celebrates the country I come from, on the day the First Fleet arrived in 1780...17something.
