I love Picnik - I've stood beside it since I first got Flickr, it makes my pictures look super-artsy with minimal effort! It's how I got this (in my opinion) pretty sweet picture of the panda at Zoo Atlanta back in March.

Yes, I know you've always resisted Photoshop .. maybe because you had already found Picnik! And, let's face it, it's a lot easier (and free!). I like your panda :) But I haven't noticed you doing much really over-the-top type stuff like I've done above and really changing the original a huge lot, this panda is more subtle .. or .. maybe I've just missed seeing what you've done.

Thank you for liking my picture :)

Now please tell me where my black background has gone? :( And where I might be able to get it back? I edited my post with that part probably after you commented.

Are you still using S1 layouts? Apparently a lot of people who are using S1 (the old layout HTML technique) are having issues with their backgrounds going wonky. Support's working on a fix.

Yes, still using S1 .. if others are having these issues then sounds like it's not something I may have done. Phew! Hope they fix it soon. But maybe this should make me make a more adventurous layout .. I've only ever had two in 6 years! It's not like I can't do some HTML etc. I am lazy that way. But you seem to change yours so frequently, tell me one thing .. once you've changed it, can you save a layout that you liked and go back to it?

Thank you! :)

I'm really glad you still have black background .. this is reassuring and means it is still out there somewhere .. the question is what have I done to lose it.

I am meaning to comment on your last entry .. and I will. Things have just been a bit busy the last few days (but not too busy to play with pics it seems!) I had things to say about leaving Uni.

I'm normally too busy to comment on entries too but I was having a lull in the busy period! :)

As I don't have a degree in Photoshop I love Picnik!
This may help with your journal viewing

LJ Support said:
"If you are using a style from the old (S1) style system, your journal may be displaying incorrectly. Developers will have this fixed in a future release. In the meantime, refreshing the page may help, or you may wish to temporarily switch your style to one on the current system (S2)."

I still need to learn how to make slideshows like you do! It all goes wrong when I try to embed it on here. Probably because I am impatient and don't read instructions.

Yes, I was just looking at the style settings and I am indeed still using S1, so maybe the style I've been using 'generator' is no longer supported or the developers are messing around with things. I have never dared to switch to S2 because I liked things how they were and wondered what would happen if I did, (afraid of losing my current settings and not being able to switch back), but maybe now I need to. Refreshing doesn't work. I will just have to try S2 and see what happens.

That's lovely. I like the selective blurring.

Awesome effect! I've always wanted to get a simpler programme than Photoshop just to fool around with. Thanks for the advertising because I've downloaded Hipstamatic and I'll pick up Picnik later today.

Have you sorted the thing out with your LJ background?

There's loads of effects and borders and easy ways of putting text on things too.

LJ background? No, not yet :( Never mind, I'll live, heh ..
