We forget sometimes that what grows or lives here may seem exotic in other places. The ponies in the zoo reminded me of apples. When I lived in Singapore I spotted a pineapple growing on the other side of the road from the university bus stop. "Look!" I exclaimed excitedly, "there's a pineapple growing!" My colleagues were not impressed, saying it was just a pineapple but I'd never seen a pineapple growing before, which they found hard to believe. Then I discovered that they'd never seen an apple growing on a tree so we were quits. :)

Zoos always make me sad that they can't be free to roam outside, go wherever they want to (i.e. the lion and cheetah pictures), unless it's a zoo where all of the animals would have died in the wild due to some injury/sickness.

Those are some nice photos though. I bet that picture of the tiger would've been amazing had it worked.
