Thanks for sharing the song, that quote and those pics. Your posts are always a joy to read, even if I don't really have much to comment on them. However I did wish I read quicker and was more disciplined while reading, so I could read all these wonderful books. I'm currently loving the two books I'm reading, but I'm struggling to read more than a few pages at a time. Yet I always find myself stockpiling books which I know I'll never read cover-to-cover. I've become used to reading books in bits and pieces, sometimes starting at a chapter or point which interests me in the moment, and taking something away from that brief encounter.
I'm determined to get through these two books and reckon it'll do me a world of good if I succeed. It's been years since I got through a book cover-to-cover. Sad but true.
Thanks for liking my posts, always appreciated to hear that :)
Yes, there are so many wonderful books out there and I stockpile them too as I am lucky to have a Red Cross bookshop just down the road and they are cheap. I can't just dip in and read any chapter though, because I'd feel I might have missed something important that contributed to the narrative, and if a book is any good, it should keep you reading sequentially anyway I think. I usually read in bed before I go to sleep .. it helps to switch off from the day somehow. Yes, you must finish those two! I know you are busy though with exams and stuff coming up. Maybe you'd do better with short stories! But then you miss out on more detailed character development and all that kind of thing.
Thanks for mentioning the Red Cross bookshop. I keep meaning to check out if there are any books in the Oxfam shop and North London Hospice shop on my high street, but keep forgetting. I know the Oxfam shop has a decent collection of cheap records, but if they've got books, they must be cheap as well. Thanks for the reminder.
I should probably get into the habit of at least reading in bed. May be leave the iPhone in the living room and remove the temptation to fall asleep listening to the World Service. And a much better way not to get woken up in the middle of the night because the radio was still on!
Short stories might also be the way to go. Is there anything in that genre that I must read?

I LOVE Margaret Atwood's words. I hope one day I'll be able to say I've read all of her books.
