Author's Notes: I wrote this for The Harry Potter Random Facts Fest! It's the first thing I've ever done quite like this.
1. Minerva’s father was a muggle, and that’s all she knows about him. He died soon after her birth, and her mother never spoke about him again.
2. Minerva is an only child.
3. She performed her first bit of magic when she was six, on a little boy two years older than her who was picking on a stray kitten. He kicked the kitten and his hair spontaneously caught fire.
4. The kitten was a tabby whom Minerva named William.
5. Her first year at Hogwarts she hated Transfiguration, she was certain that she’d never be any good at it.
6. Her second year the school got a new Transfiguration Professor named Albus Dumbledore. Minerva quickly improved in that subject.
7. Minerva is quite the Quidditch enthusiast, and was almost a Chaser in her fifth year. She lost to a boy named Alexander Barns.
8. She was reluctant to become a Transfiguration Professor, but Albus told her he needed her so she couldn’t refuse.
9. Minerva has always been told that she’s too harsh on the students in Gryffindor. She supposes that the people who think this haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Fred and George Weasley.
10. The one thing she regrets in all her years of teaching is that she stopped Ron Weasley from accidentally killing his pet rat so many times.
11. She collects Chocolate Frog cards. She’s never told a soul, and is incredibly embarrassed by the fact, but she can’t bring herself to stop.
12. Alastor Moody has asked her out on many occasions, but she has always declined.
13. She does take her hair out of it’s bun before she goes to bed, but that is the only time. She’s a practical woman and hair just gets in the way.
14. Minerva never wanted to be Headmistress, but took the job anyway because she is a staunch perfectionist and knew that no one else would run Hogwarts the way it should be.
15. The only time she’s ever cried out of joy was at the second war.
16. She’s counting down the days until all of the Weasley children’s children arrive at Hogwarts. It’s been far too dull the past few years.
17. Albus Dumbledore was her best friend, and she will always love him.
18. Minerva could tell that Albus knew something was going to happen to him. She still wishes everyday that he would have told her what he knew, but still knows exactly why he didn’t. She would have killed Severus Snape in an instant.
19. She knows what side Severus was truly on and that he was only fulfilling Albus’ instructions, but Minerva has still never forgiven him.
20. She started to worry, a few years back, about who would take her place when she was done at Hogwarts. She stopped worrying after she hired Hermione Granger as the new Charms Professor and realized she’d make a great Headmistress someday.
