Painting Easter eggs? What do eggs have to do with Easter?

You don't know about that tradition? Guess it's not as popular in other parts of the world... You basically paint eggs on Easter and hide them for kids to find or just put them up for decoration. It's got some symbolic meaning but it's mostly for fun when you're young.

Really? I don't recall having done it or hearing about it before, I think. What do you paint on the eggs?

Anything you want, really. Either just paint them in one color... or paint a picture, or a pattern. Or, if you're my brother, make a Haro out of the egg.

I'm in. I can't remember the last time I colored Easter eggs. How did you know I was thinking of painting Haro eggs?

Why would we paint eggs? You can't eat them then! That's wasteful Lyle!

Actually, you can. You just paint the shell, not what's inside so it's still edible.

You've never painted easter eggs before? I'll show you how it's done and we can eat the eggs afterwards.
