"It's like, a fucking acquired taste. You acquire it by just drinking it no matter what," he chuckled. He'd already made a crack at Jayne's name, but it amused him whenever he heard it anyway. He liked the irony.
He was nervous, and trying not to show it. What if he got screwed? The deities didn't have to revert him, they could just leave him looking like an idiot and it didn't bother him that they might. Priestly just didn't like not knowing what would happen.

Inara laughed and took another sip of his bottle. "I'm not sure why you'd want to drink something you needed to acquire a taste to," she told him teasingly. She reached over and grabbed her bottle of wine, swirling it a little and handing the bottle over to him.
"No acquired taste required," she teased. She knew he was nervous and she was attempting to keep him distracted enough to keep his mind off it.
"Because sometimes a person takes awhile to like what they should," he replied easily. He wasn't sure that really applied to alcohol; he was more thinking about brushing your teeth and washing behind your ears.
"Whoa-ho, I forgot I'm drink with the hoitiest of the toity!" Priestly chuckled and took his bottle back. She was doing a pretty good job. Inara always seemed to be able to say the right things, keep his attention focused where it needed to be.
She laughed at his words and nodded very seriously. "Future High Priestess of the Sihnon Guild House thank you very much. I'll allow you to call me Inara."
She took a drink of her wine and tilted her head. "You know you're right though. Sometimes people don't ever learn though."
