Character Information:

Character Name: Commander Alice Shepard
Age: 31
Canon:  Mass Effect
Appearance:
Shepard could appear in Hutt porn, she is pretty damn fine. Her hair is dark, shoulder length, but she usually wears it up in a bun. Her build is best described as “thick”: them curves are all there, including the curves of her muscles. Eyes are a dark grayish color. She's tall enough, about 5'8” or 5'9”.
PB

Personality:
Shepard is, first and foremost, a soldier. She's equipped to handle strenuous situations, especially in the heat of battle. Commanding is like second nature to her, and she has no qualms with being looked up to as the one with the answers. Over the past couple of years, she's gotten used to being the person who needs to make the quick and hard decisions. Losing her team on Akuze years ago has left a mark on Shepard, though, and she is of the sound mind that nobody gets left behind. On Virmire, when she was told that she could either save Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams or Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko, she almost refused to choose, believing that she could do both. It was the hardest decision she ever had to make, knowing their lives were in her hands. She has never quite forgiven herself for Ashley's death.

As the first human Spectre and stopping Saren's nefarious plans, many have claimed that she is the best humanity has to offer, but she doesn't believe that's true. Shepard does what's right, what needs to be done for the galaxy as a whole. She does wholly believe in the rights of humanity among the other alien races, but she also upholds the rights of those very aliens. They are friends and allies, and they deserve her respect as much as anyone else.

She's also incredibly charismatic. When she talks, people listen. When she goes off on suicide missions to fight Reapers and geth and Collectors, people sign right on up to follow her into possible death. Okay, she asks them first, but they always seem eager to join her crew, for whatever reasons that they have. None seem to have problems with her being in charge, and she does her best to make sure her crew-her friends, her family-are not only okay, but goes out of her way to make them okay.

Shepard wants to help people, no doubt about that. She has even died for it, and she will do it again. If it meant saving the galaxy, saving the people she cares about, whatever it is, she will gladly march forward as the Big Damn Hero. Let anyone stop her. She'll shoot them. Or convince them to come with her.

Shepard also has a brand of sarcasm that she isn't afraid to wield. Considering the type of people that she has been known to hang out with, having a sharp tongue isn't exactly the worst thing in the world to have in your arsenal. Especially when there are some real dicks out there that need to feel her wrath.

That all said, Shepard is incredibly awkward, especially when it comes to romance. Her flirting attempts are blatant and obvious, and she fumbles through them with confidence even though they can seem embarrassing at times. It possibly doesn't help that her last two romantic encounters were under... strange circumstances. With Alenko, it was almost secretive. He was an Alliance man through and through, and they both agreed their feelings could never get in the way of the crew. And then she died after they finally made their relationship official. With Garrus, it started off as 'blowing off steam', before becoming more. And she needed someone who believed in her, who was her friend.

Being dead has left its mark on her as well. She is still living two years in the past, because that's what she remembers. Sometimes it can get confusing, but she trudges through it, the same as usual. She feels a little lost and alone, especially when her crew isn't with her, insisting on working with them or nobody else, though she eventually accepts that her old crew are not the same people. She also has a habit of drinking a little too much.

Background:
Shepard

Since Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 are a player choice sort of game, I will do my best to give the run down of Shepard's life and major choices in the games:

Alice Shepard was born and raised on Mindoir, a small colony out near the Terminus systems in the Attican Traverse. When she was 16 years old, the colony was raided by slavers. Her parents were killed, along with a large portion of the other colonists. Those who weren't killed were taken as slaves. Only Shepard managed to survive and escape, later rescued by some Alliance soldiers. When she turned 18, she immediately signed up with the Alliance. Shepard quickly rose through the ranks.

One mission in particular has left its mark on Shepard. A mission she went on with her team on Akuze ended up going wrong. Her men died, killed by a thresher maw. She was, yet again, the only one to survive. Later she would find out that she was not the sole survivor, and that another had survived, only to be taken hostage by scientists working for an organization called Cerberus.

Mass Effect:

Prologue of the game's events

Receiving the message from the beacon sets Shepard on a path to find out the mystery of these geth attacks. The Normandy sets off for the Citadel to expose Saren for the traitor that he is. After gathering the evidence for the Council, they make Shepard the first human Spectre, allowing her the access and freedom to hunt down Saren. She is given command of the ship, the SSV Normandy, for her mission.

Noveria decisions:
>convinced Qui'in to testify, had Anoleis arrested and taken out of action on Noveria
>allowed the Rachni Queen to take her species and leave
>destroyed the Hot Labs, killing all the defective rachni

Feros decisions:
>helped the colonists' of Zhu's Hope by getting their food, power, water, and clearing the geth out of the tunnels for them
>saved Lizbeth Baynham
>ended up shooting Jeong
>saved as many colonists as possible
>killed the Thorian and allowed Shiala to live, thus helping Shepard receive the key to the message from the Conduit
>saved the colony

Vermire decisions:
>convinced Wrex to allow them to destroy the cure to the genophage, thus saving his life
>kept one salarian that had been experimented on in his cell, let the other go, and also allowed the asari scientist to escape the nuclear blast
>sacrificed Ashley Williams and saved Kaidan Alenko

>romanced Kaidan Alenko
>sacrificed human soldiers to save the Council
>convinced Saren that he was wrong, so he shot himself
>defeated the Saren husk, thus ultimately defeating Sovereign
>nominated Captain Anderson to become the first human on the Council

A month after the defeat of Sovereign, the Normandy was attacked by persons unknown (later to be found out as a Collector ship). The ship was evacuated, leaving only Shepard and Joker on board. There was barely in time left as Shepard tossed her pilot into an escape pod, leaving her to face death.

And for two years, Shepard was practically dead. Her body had been rescued by a group called Cerberus, an underground and shady organization that fight for the right of humanity. They spent two years building her body back together and bringing her back to life, her body partly organic and partly synthetic, due to her injuries.

Mass Effect 2:
>recruited all teammates
>gained loyalty from all teammates
>romanced Garrus after Kaidan's angry break up
>kept everyone alive on the Suicide Mission
>destroyed the human/Reaper hybrid instead of letting the Illusive Man have it

Taken post-Mass Effect 2, pre-DLC.

Special Abilities or Weapons:
Shepard is trained as a soldier, and since becoming a Spectre, she's received even further training. Beyond that, when she had died, her body was horribly damaged, and in order for the Lazarus Project to resurrect her, a lot of her organic tissue had to be merged with synthetic tissue, making her stronger than before. Guns are her specialty. Without her omni-tool, her tech abilities are out the window. However, she also has biotic implacts (basically magic, but made from science!) and with it she has a couple of abilities such as Warp (Force Push, if we want to get Forcey with it) and Slam.

She also has minimal hacking skills.

Sect: Civilian, possibly Military in the future

Job: N/A, odd jobs more than likely

Samples:

First Person:
[With ease, Shepard has figured out how to work the datapad, although she's surprised that it has all these functions. Because, haha. Datapads back home don't do this. Definitely. Her lips purse as she turns the video function on]

This is Commander Shepard of the Normandy SR-2. What system am I currently in, and how were you able to remove me of my clothes? [She tilts the camera so that it sweeps over her body, clad only in a bra and underwear, a few scars on her torso. It tilts back up to her face a moment later] In fact, how were you able to remove me of all my weaponry?

[She falls silent, looking away from the datapad for a second] Either I'm under a hallucination as a result of recent stress, or this is really not the Milky Way. [Shepard glances back] I like the idea of hallucination a lot better.

Third Person:
Shepard paced around the small room, feeling too much like a caged animal. She knew she could leave, and she knew that she wouldn't have too much of a problem finding her way around. It wasn't her galaxy, but this place didn't seem to differ too much from the systems she had been traveling around lately.

With a sigh, she leaned up against the window, still only in the non-clothing she had woken up in only an hour or so ago. Her arms crossed over her chest as she stared out into the city that stretched out beyond. It was large. And bright. Brighter than Illium, even. Her brow furrowed as she grit her teeth. This was no time for games.

The Reapers were going to come. Shepard didn't know when, but she knew it would be soon. Humanity needed her. Everyone needed her. She'd sacrificed too much already to be in a leisurely vacation spot just yet. Cracking her neck, she stepped away from the window. First, the crew needed to be found, their memories evaluated. Then they had to plan how to get out.

Nothing was too impossible.

Anything Else: :|a Idk yet. Does a canonmate wanna room with her? If Tali and Garrus want to room together, I am perfectly cool with Shepard being in a different apartment! She's going to acquire them an Ebon Hawk as soon as possible and usher her crew on board, anyway
