[Cloud's torn. He wants to save Marlene, but Yamato needs help too.]

I'm on my way, Marlene! [He starts running faster when he sees the blue flame.]

[She hadn't bothered to switch in case someone was coming.] Are you sure?

Yeah, trust me. Fighting monsters is something I do for a living. I don't know if I can kill anything, but I can hold 'em off for a while, at least.

{A low moan writhes through the darkness and iron talons click together in anticipation of such a kill. Black Annis, unseen in the deep shadows of the island, stalks the little girl with eerie concentration, her claws "tick-tick-tick"ing together just a few feet behind the child.}

[Starting slightly at the moan, Marlene bites her bottom lip and breaks into a run without looking. She knew monsters-and had dealt with Shadow Creepers attacking her not too long ago. Granted, Denzel had been there to protect her, but she knew stopping or hesitation would get her killed.

So Marlene ran as fast as she could to the cabins, to the blue light that had shown up ahead.]

Seeing the Black Annis pursuing Marlene, Jono breaks into a run, spotting Marlene head towards a blue light that felt..."safe" somehow. Rooting himself between the creature and the child, Jono calls out a challenge.

"{Oi! Beastie! If i's a fight yer looking fer, look no further!}"

With that, Jono concentrates as much of the biokinetic energy in his chest at the monster as he dares, blasting the spot where he feels it's evil energy creeping through the surroundings. The blast doesn't have it's usual potency, but Jono figures it should be enough to deter the creature, if nothing else.

{Annis recoiled from the bright fire, but she hissed and swiped her talons at the mutant regardless, icon claws passing inches from his nose. The flare of light revealed the crone; hideous disintegrating skin covering her where black pieces of cloak did not.

But the man was not her prey. Her target was fleeing, thus she slashed at the mutant again, tips of her talons trailing blood and knocked him aside to give chase to the running girl, howling in frustration.}

Chun-li had just come back from exploring with Leon when she heard the little girl calling out for Tifa and Yamato. Her small cry, she knew it to be Marlene. And her hands turned into tight fists, she was still wearing her swim-suit but her weapon was the power of her legs, and that was all she needed.

Now for a direction.

She pulled the communicator to her lips, "Marlene! What's around you? Can you tell me?" It was dark, but the blue fire held out in her hand--the chi of her energy, was enough to shed light three feet ahead of her.

"Can you see a blue flame? Can you see me? I'm coming toward your cabin.."

[She could see the light, and relief filled the girl. Finally someone!...Hopefully Yamato had found someone to help him too. He had to be ok!]

Chun-Li starts for the girl and drops the PDA to swing around her neck, as she's made it a neckless. Her fire still in one hand, and the other arm comes to swing Marlene up to hold.

"Where's your room.." She quickly asks, her eyes darting between dark and darker.

[She took Chun-Li's hand gratefully, clinging to the woman and looking back to where that man she had run past, hoping he was alright.]
