Hello, everyone! I'm back!

First of all, to all my students, I must apologize for my unnanounced absence. I got called away for a bit regarding my grandfather's estate, and the message seemed quite urgent, so I walked there as fast as I could.

And on that note, yes, I walked there. To Glasgow and from Glasgow. In retrospect, I can't imagine why I ( Read more... )

[OH SHIT. CAN YOU SAY, DEJA VU? That tone has him flash-backing to his Hogwarts days, definitely.]

Make sure you rest after traveling like that.

Well, it's not really the trip that tired me. I've walked worse. Things were a little stressful back home, however.

Well, you should take a few hours to rest at least. Is everything alright?

It's what I'm doing now, actually. Grading and checking the journal can be done from the comfort of my lounge chair, thank goodness.

It's really nothing. Just a few loose ends that keep appearing. I ran into the aunt of a student. Miharu Rokujou? I don't teach his group, so I'm not sure if you know him. She's a bit of a family friend, so unfortunately she was inviting me to things left and right. Even after the mess at my house was done, she kept me home for several more days... Somehow all that exhausted me more than the walk back.

I'm intrigued, how long did it take you to walk to Glasgow?

I hope that everything got straightened out. I've been a bit worried.

Oh, only about three days. Two on my way in, because I was in a bit of a rush. It helps that Hogwarts is already in Scotland. It's one of the reasons why I've never liked taking the Hogwarts Express! Why Granpa forced me to take it when we lived so close is beyond me.

Yes, everything's fine now. Sorry for worrying you.

Wow that's not too bad, really. I suppose you slept somewhere at night? What kind of roads did you take?

Isn't it some kind of protocol that all students have to take the Express?

Good. You haven't missed much, honestly. Other than mom sending me a cat.

I had a tent with me, as well as most of the essentials. Back when I was going through my rebellious phase, I set up some magical trails to guide me home in case I ever felt like running away. It was pretty foolish, but the markers are still there.

Yes, he'd say the same thing. I have to look into that...

Oh, a cat? [Thobari is so a dog person.] That's nice. Have you picked a name?

I was wondering what happened to you.

Getting called home was unexpected, to be sure. But it was something I had to oversee myself, so it couldn't be helped.

I know how that is. I don't have to worry about that anymore, though.

I can certainly see the appeal in walking such a distance, although I'm quite impressed that you had the endurance for it.

Well, I've been walking these sorts of distances for most of my life (and really, considering that time I walked to London, this was just a couple steps), so you'd be surprised how much the human body can endure.

What is it that motivates you to walk such distances in the first place? Can I take it you're a fellow nature lover?

Yes, nature is quite splendid when you're out on the road, walking aimlessly...

Though, to be honest, I walk simply because I like to walk. I used to walk everywhere before I obtained my apparating license, so it became a bit of a habit.
