yeah, so i saw nin, qotsa, and dfa1979 thursday night
this girl i work with had an extra ticket, so i drove and was admitted for free.
she loves nine inch nails. it's her favorite band. i, on the other hand, am not a huge fan although i do enjoy their music.
saw my ex-girlfriend there. but she didn't see me =)
dfa1979 was neat. and that pretty much sealed the night. especially since everyone else there seemed to just be like "eh...? who is this??"
qotsa was a huge disappointment. i couldn't believe how stale they sounded. how could a band that i loved so much 2-3 years ago suck so incredibly badly all of a sudden? then i realized it was because nick o wasn't in the band anymore and they were supporting a big name artist and it wasn't their show.
i was hoping nine inch nails would perform 'the perfect drug' and the joy division cover from the crow soundtrack 'dead souls,' but they didn't. however, they did play 'closer' (obviously) and 'hurt.' anyway, disregarding all of the smoke and mirrors, they were better than i expected, musically, so i guess it's safe to say that i was impressed.
dfa1979 = 4 out of 5
qotsa = 1.9 out of 5
nin = 3.1 out of 5
