Sorry there's so many of these - I want to catch up!
Monday, 10th November is mine and P's first wedding anniversary. So I thought I'd surprise him with a night away. I got on the phone and booked a hotel room - a the Fairmont Hotel & Resort in St. Andrews. Its a five-star hotel - and because we give them SO much business, they cut us a deal on the room. I expected maybe a superior room but was blown away when we got there.
We ended up in a four-room suite (livingroom/dining room, 1/2 bath (to my UK friends, a WC), a HUGE bedroom with a superking bed, and a full bathroom with a heated floor, two sinks, garden tub, and seperate shower). Waiting for us inside the door was a bottle of champagne (not sparkling wine, either) and a bottle of Merlot, both with seperate notes from the hotel wishing us a Happy Anniversary. I felt like a Queen! Here are shots from our room.

The livingroom with a sea view (that we couldn't see till the following morning). There was a nice plasma screen TV, tea & coffee making facilities (hidden in the cabinet under the TV), and a fireplace.
From double doors, you enter the bedroom. I stood in the office area of the bedroom to take this shot. With the high ceilings, we felt dwarfed by the room.

We went for dinner at the Rock & Spindle (not cheap but very good food and excellent service!). Then we had an early-ish night.
I was jumping out of bed the next morning to see our view. And I was right, we had a sea view!!
And a nice view of St. Andrews!
