Elle heard the music as soon as she approached the door. Not bothering to knock, she just walked in and plopped down on the bed.

"Hi!"

"Hey you," Hayley said, looking up from her note-making. "Make yourself at home, why don't ya?" Her smile, however, was very broad. She always liked seeing Elle.

"Don't mind if I do," Elle said with a grin. "What're you doing?" She looked over the scattered crumples. "Whatever it is looks important."

"You'll be glad to know I've ruled out running for president," Hayley said, still smiling. "Tryin' to figure out what I'm going to do after I graduate."
