The new girl, Hayley Fitzpatrick. You've probably never heard of her, because he comes from a six-issue miniseries that is an imprint of the DC Elseworlds line (Batman: Thrillkiller). This means she comes from an alternate universe of the main DC world. One where it's really just the Batman stuff, and all the action takes place in the early 60s. Batman isn't rich (but his parents: still dead), The Joker was a woman, Catwoman was a stripper, and Hayley here is Harley Quinn.

Yeah, you heard that right. Now, Hayley isn't a criminal mastermind or even a supervillain. She's just a girl who's whacked Batman with a crowbar. That's really the extent of her record.

Hayley Fitzpatrick isn't that different from your typical, star-struck girl. She's the type of girl who'd have been screaming her lungs out, light-headed and ready to swoon when the Beatles first toured America. Instead, her obsession focused on costumed vigilantes and the beautiful queen of Gotham's underworld, Bianca Steeplechase (The Joker). She's excitable, cheerful, and a little bit rebellious (which might be a product of growing up, going to a Catholic All-Girls school, which surely tried to force order and discipline onto the poor girl). Of course, her rebellious nature takes her to smoking Nicotic cigarettes (made from mutant Nazi tobacco that causes nerve damage and manic behavior after extensive use). She's a little bit damaged, and is drawn to strong personalities, regardless of gender.

So, in short: Tiny blonde, manic and bubbly, would punch you in the face if she thought it'd impress someone she wants to impress. Mostly, she'll be bubbly and happy at you. But there's definitely something a little more sinister (or, at least, heavily impressionable) underneath.

Any questions, concerns, pie? Go ahead and comment away. I don't bite.
