When I look at you…
It seems that the word ‘perfection’
Has finally taken a form in a human look
***
You didn’t believe love at the first sight. It didn’t exist in your dictionary. You persisted that it was too ridiculous and no person had enough perfection for you to be loved at the first meeting. However, like a human did, you were wrong. Your first encounter with him was enough to make your stomach twitched in weird way and you thought that your perspiration system was broke. You saw him for the first time at the park when you were walking at one boring afternoon. He was sitting at the bench under a tree with his white fur dog in his feet. You felt a weird feeling when you looked at the auburn hair man that was looking at the semi orange sky, a thin smile in his lips. You cursed yourself when you remembered him periodically at your daily activities before you decided to go to the park again that day.
So you skipped your promise to hang out with your friend to face the man that gave you perplexity with your own brain. You grabbed your jacket and walked to the park, hoping that you could catch a glimpse of him again that day. Your heart shrieked and jumped in happiness when you spotted him at the same bench that day. He wore a white shirt that making him looked like an angel in your eyes. He was looking at the sky again that day and his dog played around his feet. You felt your heart was melting at the adorable sight.
You tried to approach him and felt the nervousness grew in the pit of your stomach. It was something that unusually happened, since you were a flirty man, woman and man crumpled at your feet effortlessly. However, there was something inside him that made you feel different. You felt your feet slowly weakened at each step that you took. You heart was thumping madly, and you confused at the fact that you successful reached the bench, since you felt that you could blacken out anytime.
“Hi…” You said to him nervously and he jerked a little at your voice. He turned his head to stare at your direction.
“Hi…” He whispered back to you and all of your great flirting formulas were thrown out from the window as you got carried away with his melodic voice.
“Can I sit there?” the urge to hit yourself was great when you heard yourself stuttering. You earned a nod. Swiftly, you sat there beside him. His dog was eyeing both of you amusedly. You surveyed his face as your heart bubbled up when you found smooth skin and cute buttoned nose. He also had red kissable lips, making you wailed inside because of adoration. However, the things that caught you the most were his eyes. They were colored with warm hazel brown color that sucked you deep into them. There was something oddly beautiful and enchanting at the same time in them and you couldn’t exactly know about it. The pair of almond shaped eyes trapped you into their pool and you couldn’t help but surrender, drowning inside its beauty. The sad thing was, they stared at the empty spaces instead of you, making you couldn’t help but feel a bit of disappointment.
“You have a beautiful dog there…” You told him and felt happiness as he smiled widely and leaned down a little to stroke his white dog.
“Thank you…” He grinned, obviously proud at his pet. “His name is Xiah-ki…”
“It’s a beautiful name for a dog, I wonder about the owner, I guess he has prettier name than his pet…” You earned a blush as he looked down to the road, his cheeks were reddening prettily and you concluded that he was too adorable for his own good.
“My name is Junsu… Kim Junsu…”
“Hi… Kim Junsu-sshi… I’m Park Yoochun…” You extended your hand for a handshake, but he still looked down at the road instead of accepting your hand. You frowned but decided to ignore it.
You quickly found that Kim Junsu was a pianist. He loved music and had a unique husky voice. He lived in his apartment not too far from this park alone with his dog. He was twenty-two years old, making him a year younger than you. Junsu is a shy, sweet, and adorable man. You felt yourself slowly fallen deeper to the man with pretty orbs as both of you talked about your life and your job. The conversation was light and comfortable. You slipped flirtatious words here and there because you loved the way he blushed when you did that.
Junsu’s laugh was melodious in your ears and his smile was like a warm sunshine that could melt every cold heart. However, you were intrigued once again with his eyes. The man hadn’t looked at you even once; he just shifted his gaze to everything but your face, or just staring at the empty space. It made you want to pull your hair in frustration because you were more than want to feel the pretty orbs looking at your own eyes.
“I need to go home…” Junsu told you as he stood up from the bench, times surely flied fast as the sky turned into red orange. You offered to walk him home but he refused, insisting you not to do it.
“It’s nice to meet you, Yoochun-sshi… I hope I can meet you again…” He told you, again, not looking at your face.
“Nice to meet you too, and I hope you can drop the sshi… if you don’t mind.”
He laughed a warm and melodious unique sound from his throat.
“See you tomorrow then, Yoochun…” He waved his hand and you waved back. He turned around as he started to walk, and it suddenly hit you with tons of brick.
Junsu was walking but it was his dog, xiah-ki, that led him in his every steps. His dog led him because he couldn’t lead himself. His dog was looking his way for him because he couldn’t do it himself.
He was blind…
Your pretty angel was blind…
His perfect eyes couldn’t see light.
You thought that you were really idiot for not realizing it sooner. It dawned you as you remember the way he didn’t meet your eyes when you talked with him. He didn’t look you in your eyes, because he couldn’t. He stared into an empty space; because wherever he looked it would look all the same… All he saw would be darkness. The late realization struck you hard and left you trembled there with disbelief. Without controlling yourself, you rose up and called his name absentmindedly.
“Junsu…”
The man, who stole your heart with his beautiful eyes stopped and turned around toward the direction of your voice. You finally saw something that you missed from before. Beneath those irises there were a thin blanket, covering the warm orbs. They were thin, almost unnoticeable, but this time you could catch a sight of them clearly.
Junsu looked so angelic and innocent. He stood there, waiting for you to approach him. You guessed that he heard your steps when you walked closer to him. One of his hands was holding Xiah-ki’s rope tightly. With his white shirt, his face and the smile in his lips, he surely looked like an angel that fallen to earth. An angel that trapped into a world of darkness forever.
You walked beside him, and without your conscious mind, you blurted something to him.
“Junsu, your eyes…
“Yes, I’m blind…” he cut you before you finished your question. There was a thin smile in his lips, but not a joyful and beaming one that you grew to love. It was a sorrowful smile that hurt your heart when you saw it. Hurt and sorrow were written so clearly in his facial expression. However, he was smiling, obviously not wanting you to pity him.
You looked him, staring at his face, wanting to erase the sad smile in his lips. You cursed yourself from being stupid. His beautiful eyes dimmed slightly. Even they were blind, you still could see a slight emotion inside them. They were deep, sadly beautiful, cruelly enchanting, stole your breath away at the same time. Junsu stood there and you surveyed at his petite body, drowning deeper into his feature. The way he stared at your direction with sad smile, accompanied by the orange sunset at the horizon as the background, making you feel that you found a real perfection in this world.
“No, it’s not the thing I want to say… Your eyes…” You paused and looked at the pair of eyes again. You took a deep breath.
“Your eyes, they are beautiful…” You told him, smiling widely. The words were honest from your heart and you hoped that they could reach his soul. You hoped that he could understand what you were implying, that it was okay, that he was beautiful and get more beautiful every seconds passed in your eyes. He looked taken a back at your answer, but he smiled nonetheless. You knew that he got your hidden message. He blushed when you offered to walk him home again and this time he hesitantly let you do it.
You felt his presence walking beside you. He softly told you about his life with his melodious voice. His warm brown eyes sparkled… and you couldn’t deny that… This man was flawless…
In other word…
He was perfect…
He was the only perfection that you found in your entire life.
And his eyes…
The pair of chocolate hazel orbs were the most beautiful eyes you had ever seen in your life.
Because love isn’t about loving someone perfect…
But loving someone that imperfect
As a perfect person…
Love conceals the entire flaws
Love directs me to you...
