“Su-ie… Darling? What are you doing? I thought you have already fallen asleep. It’s not good for your skin to stay up this late,” A man said, walking closer toward his lover. The other man, who was sewing a piece of fabric, turned around to see the owner of the voice.

“My lover… You are still up too. You are the one who are supposed to be sleeping, right now. You will need your energy to wake up tomorrow. You’ll go for a long trip, right?” The sweet melodious voice entered Changmin’s ears. His beloved, Kim Junsu smiled sweetly at him.

“Why are you sewing? We have servants for doing it… Just sleep, now, Jagiya?” He walked toward the petite man and held him tightly in his arms, savoring the warmth he always missed.

Junsu slowly stood up after putting his sewing kits. Looking at the orbs of his lover, he whispered sweet words.

“Come home soon and be careful, Minnie-ah… I heard that the war is becoming more dangerous this day. The army from the south has joined this mess. I can’t help but worry about you,” Junsu told him, his hand fingered the fabric in Changmin’s clothes.

“Don’t worry my beloved Su-ie… I’ll come home safely, knowing there is a beautiful wife who is waiting me at home. “

“I’ll wait for you, my dear… I hope this trip won’t take too long, because I’ll miss you for sure. My heart aches when you are not with me.”

“I’ll miss you too, Su-ie… “

The beautiful man smiled at his lover’s affectionate words. He looked at his husband’s eyes straightly, searching the truth at the warm orbs.

“Minnie-ah, Do you love me?”

“Yes, Su-ie… I love you…” Changmin answered him right away, telling him nothing but the truth.

Junsu smiled contently at the answer. He stood up and walked to their bed. The red sheets tickled his white skin. He patted the empty space beside him, motioning his husband to come over.

“Let’s sleep, Jagiya… Both of us need our rest. Tomorrow, you need to go and fight all of those traitors, making your emperor proud of you. Since then, you can come home soon and bring me the cherry blossom satins I always long for. “

You felt dirty when you stood up from the bed with nothing covered your body except the bed sheet. You heard his sound from outside of the room, asking your master about you.

“Where is him, Master? What are you doing to him?”

You heard a chuckle from your master. You tried to walk despite your bottom was sore and in pain. You desperately wanted to go out from the room and see him.

“Who do you think you are, Yoochun? How dare you talk to me with that tone, gardener?”

“Maybe I am a gardener, Master… But I am still his husband. “

“His husband?” You heard a mocking laugh fill the afternoon’s silence. You stood at the door, seeing your husband was standing there with red angry face. Your master sneered at his expression.

“My… My… What kind of husband are you, Yoochun? You can’t even protect your wife against your master.”

“Chunnie…” You whimpered, making two pairs of eyes turned toward you. You walked pass your master and throwing yourself into his arms. He held you tightly, eyes searching at yours. You didn’t know that your master’s eyes were darkened at the sight of affection.

“Please, excuse us. Master, we need to rest,” He told your master, his eyes still weren’t leaving you. He held you in his arms, carrying you in princess style.

“You know what, Yoochun?” Your master hissed when he looked at both of your retreating figure.

“Your wife… He is so sweet, Yoochun. I can remember the way he cried helplessly when I came inside him. He was so perfect.”

His body tensed at the mocking words from your master. You wanted to close his ears, so he couldn’t hear the cruel words from your master. You buried yourself at the crook of his neck. You wanted to disappear. You hoped the floor would open up and swallow you whole.

“I can’t wait to feel him again, Yoochun. I really hope that you’ll be kind enough to share him with me.”

He just walked away from your sick master, holding you tightly closer to his body. You clutched at him, not wanting to let go.

“Is it because of the wealth? He was so in love with his previous husband.”

“Nah, that gardener? Looking at him now, I think that he has changed drastically.”

“I agree with you. Maybe you are right. It’s because of the wealth. Come on, look at those gifts, things that master gives to him. There are gold, hundred meters of best satins and silks, and I haven’t mentioned about the jewelries yet. Everything that he wants, he’ll get it in a blink of eye.”

“Isn’t it because he is so beautiful?”

“No one can deny his beauty. You are blind if you tell me that he doesn’t have the look. With that face, every person will bend in his knees.”

“You better not let master hear it. You’ll be finished…”

“Master has changed too. Can’t you see- he becomes softer and kind, unlike his past? He was known since his cold and bitter personality.”

“Eh? Master was cold and bitter before? I can’t believe it…”

“Believe it, he is way better than before…”

“Master must love him so much. “

“They looked happy. Can’t you see the way master looks at him?”

“They are perfect for each other, don’t you think. All people who looks at them will pray for their happiness.”

“They looked happy indeed, but still… Is it okay just to forget the sins from the past?”

“Can you stop gossiping about me and my wife?” Changmin asked his girl servants who were chatting happily. They jumped in surprise and quickly bowed their head, greeting him.

“Master…”

“We didn’t know that you have already come home… Isn’t it earlier?”

Changmin shook his head at the servants. They all looked embarrassed and guilty. He let them passed this time.

“Where is your other master?” He asked those young servants. A silent giggles were erupted, he cleared his throat to stop them. He noted to teach them some manners another time.

“He is at the backyard, master. “

Changmin nodded at the answer. He turned back and walked to the backyard, wanting to see the face he missed so much. He almost ran to see his beloved wife, whose face was gracing his dreams every night.

“Su-ie…” Changmin called the petite figure that was sitting at the table under the blooming cherry blossom trees. He was looking at the trees, appearing so serene and calm. The fallen petals were surrounding him, making him looked ethereal and almost surreal. He turned to see his lover when he heard Changmin’s voice. Junsu smiled when he saw the warrior who was standing there, trapped at the beautiful scene.

“You come home earlier than usual…” Junsu told him softly.

You held him closer to your body, feeling the warmth you needed to erase the sourness inside your tainted soul.

“Yoochunnie…” You called him softly, feeling the warm liquid from his tears in his cheeks.

“Yoochunnie… I’m so sorry…”

“Susu-ah… It’s not your fault. I am the one who should apologize to you. I can’t protect my own wife. I’m helpless toward master and making you hurt like this. I am the one who should take all the blame.

“No…” You gasped at his words.

“It’s not your fault Yoochunnie… It is mine. I can’t protect my own dignity. I can’t protect the thing that belonged only for you. It’s my fault to be so weak.” You told him, clenching his hand tightly as tears were trickling from your eyes.

“Susu-ah, no…”

“Yoochunnie… I’m so sorry… If I had more power to fight him, this would not happen at the first place. I wish I fought him more, Yoochunnie. I wish I chose my own death than let him had his way on me. “

“Ssshh… No, Susu-ah… Don’t say something like that. I can’t bear the feeling of not having you inside my arms. I can’t imagine myself losing you, not having you beside me.”

“But, Yoochunnie… Look at me! Look at me and see, how dirty I am now. Don’t you understand? There is someone else other than you touched this body? How can I stand it? I’m nothing but a whore at the time I let someone enter me, against my will or not. I don’t deserve you again…” You stood up as you told him. Every word that you spoke was killing you slowly.

“No Susu-ah… “ He told you as he leaned his hand to pick one of the cherry blossom flowers. He put it in your ears, smiling at the little pretty flower before kissed your lips. He kissed you slowly and passionately, making you forget about almost everything but him. When you broke away for air, he whispered sweetly to your lips.

“You are not dirty, Susu-ah. You won’t ever be dirty. You will always beautiful in my eyes no matter what.”

You knew it exactly in your heart. You wouldn’t let other person to enter your heart ever again. Because, your heart had already belonged to him long ago…

“Yoochunnie, but how if he do it again? What will we do? We are only a pair of gardener and servant. We are nothing against him.”

You felt his body turn stiff at the fact. He turned around, looking at the fallen flowers that were surrounding you.

“Susu-ah… How about we run away from this place?”

“Run away? You are crazy… He will kill us.”

“No, Susu-ah. I’m not scared. As long as I’m with you, I’ll have the courage to face the death with my own life.

Junsu ran toward the warrior and hugged him tightly, making the man closed his eyes at the warm embrace. Changmin breathed sweet scent from his wife’s body before broke the embrace and flicked the adorable man’s nose. Junsu pouted at the action. The beautiful man had cherry blossom petals on his hair and Changmin brushed it away softly.

“Why are you pouting? You are not happy to see me?”

“No… Of course I’m happy to see you…”

“Really?”

Junsu nodded, his long earrings shook at his movement. Changmin laughed at the adorable action from his beloved.

“I come home earlier, because I’m missing you…”

“Grease ball… How is the war? You won, right?”

“Of course we won. No one can deny the greatness of Shim Changmin. The emperor is more than pleased with my action. He granted my wish to come home sooner.”

“I’m so proud of you, my dear… Do you know how happy I am to hear that?”

“No, I haven’t finished yet, love… Do you know the things that I bring home for you?”

Junsu’s eyes lightened up at the promise of gifts. He knew Changmin would only give him the best things. He smiled widely and Changmin congratulated himself for making him smile. His joy radiated, adding a pinch of glory to his beautiful face.

“What is it, love?”

“It’s the things you asked me before. Satins and silks, all with your favorite pattern, Cherry blossom flower, right?”

“Really?”

“Yes, I bring many of it… “

Junsu laughed, warm, tingling, and melodious. The sweet sound of happiness was making his husband purr in delight. Changmin would bring the whole world for him, just to see the beauty laugh in happiness like this.

“Are they good? How is the quality? Where do they come from?”

“Well, they are come all the way here from China.”

“Are you kidding me?”

“No, My beloved… I’m not kidding you. They are imported from China. First class. They are the best and the design is beautifully made. I bring you the most expensive fabrics that I have found in my entire life, dear… “

“Oh God, Thank you, my love…” Junsu covered his mouth in happiness. His eyes were twinkling in happiness, but Changmin had more.

“Junsu…” Changmin called his beloved; his hand reached something in his pocket. He pulled a beautiful hairpin from it, presenting the beautiful gift for his wife to see.

“This is for you, dear…” He told his wife as Junsu’s eyes widened at the sight of cherry blossom shaped hairpin. His fingers touched it softly, afraid that it could break if he touched it too harsh. The hairpin was extremely lovely. It was made from jade and gold with complicate detail of crafting on it.

“You are the only person who is perfect enough to have this thing.”

Junsu slowly took the pin from Changmin’s hand. His hand was shaking as he held the beautiful hairpin tightly in front of his chest.

“I get it from the emperor, himself. He gave it to me when I told him about you. He thought that you deserve this kind of beauty,” Changmin whispered to his wife. His hand slowly caressed the pale soft skin of Junsu’s cheeks. He kissed Junsu’s cheek, earning himself an adorable blush from his wife’s beautiful face.

“Thank you, darling. I’ll treasure it forever…” Junsu smiled at his husband.

“I love you, Su-ie…”

The confession of love was greeted only by a silent smile. The wind blew Junsu’s hair softly as the flower petals danced around him.

***
“Yoochunnie…” You whimpered as you held your lover’s waist even tighter. The wind blew your hair. Your horse was running faster under his command. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at your back, knowing that you would see your master, together with his horse riding army. They were running after you, wanting to place you again under his power.

Your heart beat faster and faster as the adrenaline rushed in your vessels. You were more than scared at the tense situation.

“Don’t worry, Susu-ah… They won’t catch us…” He told you, assuring your worried heart. His hand held the horse rope tightly, commanding the horse to run even faster. You whimpered when your horse lost its balance, falling toward the gravity. Instead of the hard ground, you felt the soft chest underneath your body. Your Yoochunnie used his own body to catch you when you were falling.

You quickly stood up, leaving the horse behind, running as fast as your feet let you. You were panting heavily when he pointed at the row of cherry blossom trees.

“Look Junsu… “ He held your hand, giving you strength to continue what you were doing.

“After those trees, we will free, that is the end of our master’s land…”

Both of you ran together, hand linked at each other, moving with your numb and tired feet. You knew that your freedom was right in front of your eyes when you reached those trees. However, you didn’t know, in a blink of eye, a hope could turn into a nightmare.

“Yoochun, we are…” Your eyes widened at the arrow that went through his body. You stopped to run when you saw him fall to his knees. The color of the blood tainted his fabric, painting an image of nightmare at your memories.

“NO…!” You shouted, looking another arrow that shot through his boy. Everything was moved into a slow motion. You looked back, seeing your master in his horse. One of his hands was holding a bow while the other was taking another arrow. You saw the horse-riding army behind him, all wanting to stop you from your freedom.

Your Yoochunnie fell at the ground with the third arrow. All of your freedom was nothing at the moment. Your only reason for wanting it was down, broken at the pink petals covered ground. You kneeled beside his body, looking at the contrast red color. The colors were blending in an image you wouldn’t forget for the rest of your life. Red and pale pink…it was a combination of death and beauty. You looked at his pale face- he still looked as handsome as ever. He motioned you to come over and you complied his last wish in this earth.

“Susu-ah…” He smiled at you despite all of the pain. He whispered to your ears for the last time, telling you words that you had been memorized perfectly inside your heart.

“I love you…”

Thousands of memories ran behind your eyelids. You clutched at his body tightly, not wanting to let go even your master pulled you away from him.

“LET ME GO…”

You cried, struggling at the strong grip in your wrist- it dragged you away from him. The sweet scent of cherry blossom was slowly blending together with the metallic smell of his blood. It would haunt you for eternity.

“MASTER, PLEASE… LET ME GO… LET ME DIE WITH HIM…” You cried, shouted, wailed, and obviously didn’t want to accept the cruel fate. Your love wasn’t there again for you to hold. You wouldn’t feel his arms again, wrapping around your body. You wouldn’t see the greasy smile in his lips again. You wouldn’t taste his lips again, savoring the sweet flavor that you remembered so deeply.

“Please… Let me die, master… Kill me, and let me go with him…”

Your master didn’t let you die… He brought you home, alive, but your heart… it was dead.
