I think you think I hate you.

I hate my dad sometimes. He's always like, 'Hey Krys. Are you ok?' God I hate when he asks that. He makes it seem as though I look like I'm not ok. But what I hate most about the question is that he doesn't give a fsck about the answer. He asks because it's routine.

Him: 'Hey girl.'
Me: 'Hi.'
Him: 'How are you?'
Me: 'Tired. You?'
Him: 'Great.'
-pause-
Him: 'How was school?'
Me: 'Boring, as usual.'
Him: 'When's your math test?'
Me: 'Exam. It's the 24th. And it's a regional exam.'
Him: 'Mom mentioned something about you not being ready to take it..?'
Me: o_O 'I didn't say I wasn't ready to take it.'
Him: o_O
Me: 'I said I was worried because I wasn't sure if we covered all the topics we were supposed to.'
Him: 'Oh.'
-pause-
Him: 'So when are you taking it?'
Me: -sigh- 'The 24th.'
Him: 'Oh yeah..'
-silence for the rest of the 15min drive-

And I hate his superficial concerns and attention to trivial details. Every day before I walk out the door: 'Krys! You can't go out like that!'
Me: Wteff. 'Why?'
Him: -staring at me like I'm retarded- 'Because your pants are too long and they have a miniscule stain that I have to hold up to two lamps to see!'
Me: -rolling my eyes- 'Whatever.'
Him: -glares-

I can't stand his hypocrisy and pathological lies. He's constantly in denial or on the defensive and he treats me like a child, but he's the one acting infantile.

It's confusing. Because I can't help but love him.
